The 10 Commandments of E-Bike Safety
Before you ride the trail, know the rules of the mission. Safety isn’t about slowing you down — it’s about making sure you and your squad come home with nothing but good stories and great photos. These are your 10 Commandments of E-Bike Safety. Follow them, and every ride becomes a mission accomplished.
1. Thou Shalt Wear Thy Helmet
A helmet isn’t optional. It’s your first line of defense. Invest in one designed to protect your brain housing group.
2. Thou Shalt Ride at a Safe Speed
Just because your e-bike can hit 28 mph doesn’t mean you should. Slow down in crowds and near crossings. Save your speed for clear stretches.
3. Thou Shalt Announce Thy Presence
Bells, callouts, or a quick “On your left!” — communication prevents collisions on shared trails.
4. Thou Shalt Respect the Crossings
Obey signals and stop at lights. Make eye contact with drivers. Batteries don’t beat bumpers.
5. Thou Shalt Keep Thy Eyes Up
No staring at your phone. Look ahead for hazards — glass, potholes, sand, or beachgoers cutting across with coolers.
6. Thou Shalt Not Ride Beyond Thy Skill
Build up distance and speed gradually. Master your ride before tackling tougher trails.
7. Thou Shalt Maintain Thy Ride
Charge your battery, test your brakes, and check tires before rolling out. A quick inspection prevents breakdowns and bad days.
8. Thou Shalt Stay Visible
Lights front and rear, even in the day. Reflective gear helps too, but nothing beats a blinking tail light in traffic.
9. Thou Shalt Ride Single-File in Crowds
Side-by-side works in open spaces. In busy areas, single-file keeps everyone safer and smoother.
10. Thou Shalt Look Out for Thy Squad
Keep tabs on your crew — especially kids or new riders. A good mission commander makes sure everyone finishes with a smile.
⚠️ Mission Disclaimer ⚠️
These commandments are meant to guide safe and responsible e-bike riding — but at the end of the day, you’re responsible for your own safety and the safety of your squad. Trails, traffic, and conditions can change without warning. Use common sense, obey local laws, and always ride within your limits.
Disobey these commandments at your own risk — If you’re riding with young riders, Dad and/or Mom Mode always applies.
